Through many of its programs, PACOMARCA has direct contact with thousands of families that depend on the alpaca as their main source of income. This contact is invaluable to assure the sustainability of the alpaca supply chain and a better livelihood to the communities.
Through its Inca Esquila Program, PACOMARCA helps communities/breeders in the shearing process, putting into practice techniques that ensure the animal is not harmed and the resulting fiber to be sold at a higher price (there is less contamination by coarse hairs). Also, via its Quintal del Inca contest, PACOMARCA pays a premium price for the best lots of each breeder/community and gives special prizes to the best contestants (prizes range from sustainable housing, livestock animals, courses in herd management and special equipment).
These two programs enable PACOMARCA to offer lots of fully traceable Baby Alpaca.
