The Black Alpaka collection is linked to the Yanapaco (black alpaca) program that PACOMARCA carries out in order to rescue the breeding of pure black alpacas in Perú. At present the production of pure black alpaca fiber represents less than 0.07% of total production in the country. In order to achieve this goal PACOMARCA has the largest pure black alpaca herd in the world. Several research and selection programs are performed with these animals in order to share with the small-time breeders the resulting genetic material, increasing in this way the breeding of this type of alpacas. An economic incentive for its breeding has been created with the beginning of this program due to the increment in local and international prices for this type of fiber. At present only the Inoue Brothers and KUNA have the exclusivity for the commercialization of this special collection.
