Through many of its programs, PACOMARCA has direct contact with many families that depend on the alpaca as their main source of income. This contact is invaluable to assure the sustainability of the alpaca supply
Chain and a better livelihood to the communities.
Through its “Inca Esquila” program, PACOMARCA helps communities in the shearing process, putting into practice the official peruvian technical norm for alpaca shearing that ensures the animal is not harmed and the resulting fiber to be sold at a higher price (there is less contamination by coarse hairs). Also, via its “Quintal del Inca” contest, PACOMARCA pays a premium price for the best lots of each community/breeder and gives special prizes to the top contestants (prizes range from sustainable housing, livestock animals, courses in herd management and special equipment).
These two programs enable PACOMARCA to offer lots of fully traceable royal alpaca.
